April Happenings. Oh my! What a month!!

Time to talk about April even though I know we are in June. Read on and you will cut me some slack. It's been Crazy!!

The month of April didn't start off too bad. Hailey went to horse therapy and had been doing great!

We were able to celebrate Easter and Hailey's Aunt got her this cool Easter shadow egg. Hailey would look inside every time she passed by the egg. It was so neat!

We did go to a few Easter Egg hunts but Hailey started to not feel to well. It was spring break and she just seemed like she wasn't feeling to well. No fever, but she just got worse and worse.

She did start throwing up and not holding anything down so we ended up in the emergency room! She was ataxic and due to disease progression she was becoming lethargic and dehydrated.

We discovered she also had strep throat and a bladder infection. She was given antibiotics and was doing fine until...

We discovered that she was allergic to her anti biotic! We did go to her pediatrician and we now have to add allergic to amoxicillin to her charts...

Everything cleared up pretty quick and Hailey was back to normal. Which was great because we always have fun things planned for her!
She attended a dinner for the Make a Wish volunteers and she had a ton of fun.

We were also invited to Bonnie Springs where they were raising money to be donated to Make a Wish. It was put together by another wish kid that is someone very close to Hailey. We had so much fun!
There was so much to see! We loved the animals and the train rides!

Then this happened....
Hailey's mom was diagnosed with Graves Disease or a Hyper Thyroid and needed to undergo radiation therapy. She was also going to be in restricted isolation for 3 days and then modified isolation for 2 days after that. Hailey's grandparents flew down and Hailey was able to face time with mom. It was pretty odd not being able to be with Hailey when that's all Hailey's mom did. She took care of Hailey 24/7. Being in isolation meant NO contact, No sharing bathrooms, beds, towels, linens. No touching food or plates or utensils. Throwing everything touched into a garbage bag and holding the garbage for 6 weeks.
After isolation was over Hailey's mom developed thyroiditis and needed to be put on steroids. Then now that we are 7 weeks after radiation we receive our bill which is HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS of dollars. Hailey's mom set up a booster to try and help raise money to pay that bill. You can see the booster HERE if you are interested in helping.

That was April. Now on to May...

Guess who's having a birthday soon?

Every year people anticipate what theme will Hailey have for her birthday? Any guesses??

As we get the party planning underway Hailey did pick a theme and really it couldn't be anymore perfect for Hailey.

This years theme is:

TROLLS!!!

Have you seen this movie? Trolls have times throughout the day that's designated as HUG TIME! That's perfect for our Hailey!

The Trolls theme hasn't been easy to come by. We did find a few things at Target and we did apply for a cake through Icing Smiles. I just got word they did find a baker, but they have not contacted me directly yet...

Everything else will probably be Pinterest inspired or purchased on Amazon and I can't wait!

If you want to get Hailey a gift off of her Amazon Wish list that is located HERE.
If you'd like to make a monetary donation you can do that HERE.

We can't wait for May!!

March Happenings

Wow! So I'm just now posting about March when April is almost over...LOL! Things have been crazy over hear as per usual so lets get this update started.

March was the annual Walk for Wishes event. In the past you saw Hailey in all the promotional videos prior to the race. Sadly not this year. It's others turn. Our teams were huge back then! Our team was about half the size of last years, but we still walked and raised money for wish kids like Hailey!

Every year Hailey and her cousin cross the finish line together holding hands. This year was no different!

We did catch our friend Captain Jack walking and join him and his crew for a bit.

You can't have leprechauns not be mischievous on St. Patrick's Day! This is always so funny to Hailey.

There were so many nice days weather wise at the barn where Hailey does Horse Therapy. When the chickens lay eggs Hailey wears the egg apron and goes collecting. She LOVES it!

The way this chicken looks at us cracks me up! HA! HA!

Hailey's Horse Lena is the second horse we've done therapy with. When Hailey started we worked with another horse. Does anyone remember his name?

When Hailey first started lessons she worked with Pablo.
He did a great job with Hailey. It's a scary thing to ride a horse when you've never done it before, especially as a mom letting your child ride a horse when they never have before.

Sadly Pablo did pass away unexpectedly and our hearts were broken. When we told Hailey she asked if Pablo was with our Daisy, who passed away last year, in heaven? She's understanding more and more and it's very sad how much death we experience. She loses a lot of friends.
But we keep the memories. Goodbye sweet horse. We will miss seeing you Pablo!

The month of April is on it's way our and May is around the corner. You all know what happens in May right?!?!?!?

February and celebrating Valentine's Day

We were all VERY excited for February! We would be heading back to Disneyland and we couldn't be more excited.

Hailey was excited to attend her first Daddy Daughter dance and she wanted a cute new hairdo and we came across this heart braid that was such a hit!

What was exciting about this trip to Disneyland was that Hailey would be able to go with ALL her cousins which she has never done before!

Hailey was so glad to be able to go on her favorite rides with her cousins. It was really cute to see. I hope we can do this again in the future!

Our new obsession was enjoying a delicious Tigger Tail Treat! So yum!

We even arrived in the nic of time to meet Moana before she left on another adventure! It was amazing!

We really indulged on treats this trip. Don't judge us. LOL!

Can you find Hailey in the midst of all the blue fur? She's in there somewhere, I promise! This was the first time meeting Sulley!
 We love this pup!
Our friend Judy Hopps had told me that I had to bring Hailey over to get a hug. I had to listen, she's an officer!
February was also Annual Passholder Month and we got to meet the Sherrif of Knottingham and Prince John from Robin Hood. AP days was a complete mess and very unorganized and if Disneyland would like a few pointers on how it could run smoother I hope they ask me. I have a list of improvements for them!

So many cast members make our trips so great that we had made and brought more thank you gifs to pass out!

Hailey received a gift card to go to Goofy's kitchen for Valentine's Day and it was such a blast!

The food sure was Goofy though, dessert for breakfast? Why not?

They even heard that Hailey's Pacemaker had a birthday so she got an extra cupcake!

On Valentine's Day at Disneyland you get to see princesses with their prince and that was so awesome!

Sleeping Beauty brought Prince Phillip with her!

We saw our friend Princess Elena again and it was Magical!

Hailey's pin trading game is on point thanks to her friends Max and Lexi for hooking her up!

We also passed out some tissue holders that we made and we put the left overs in our Etsy shop if you'd like one!

After our trip we did end up at the Hospital with Hailey due to some acid reflux. She ended up having to get a barium x-ray done and is now on medication.

February is Rare Disease Awareness month. We joined the Little Miss Hannah Foundation at their 5K and it was really a ton of fun!

We were also invited by Make a Wish to accept a check from Bank of Nevada and their Swish for a Wish campaign. The Wish kid that was supposed to go ended up not feeling well so Hailey filled in for them. We try to help whenever we can!

February was also Hailey's cousins birthday so we headed over to Dave and Buster's after Horse Therapy one weekend and let the girls have some fun. Hailey loves this place and since they support Make a Wish we support them!

Finally the last of the new items for our Etsy shop were posted and we are ready to ship them out to new homes!

March is nearly over but I think we have a few more things scheduled before I write about it. Stay turned for our next blog post!
